The concept of 'cultural hybridity' has gained significant traction in postcolonial studies, challenging the notion of pure, bounded cultures. Scholars such as Homi Bhabha argue that cultural interactions inevitably produce new, mixed forms that resist binary categorizations. This perspective suggests that identity is not static but is continually renegotiated through contact with 'otherness'. However, critics contend that an overemphasis on hybridity may obscure persistent power asymmetries and economic inequalities that shape global cultural flows.
