Good morning. Today we're going to discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study from the University of Melbourne followed 1,200 residents over a five-year period. Participants who lived within 500 meters of a park or garden reported 15% lower levels of stress hormones. Interestingly, the effect was stronger for people who visited the green space at least twice a week, regardless of the size of the area. The study also found that community gardens were more beneficial than ornamental parks, possibly because they encourage social interaction and physical activity.
