In today's lecture, we'll discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study followed 1,000 residents over five years. It found that people living within 300 meters of a park reported 20% lower stress levels. Interestingly, the type of green space mattered: community gardens had a stronger effect than ornamental lawns. However, the study also noted that access alone wasn't enough; regular use, such as weekly visits, was key. So, while adding parks helps, encouraging daily activities there is crucial for well-being.
