The researchers found that people living within 300 meters of a park or garden reported significantly lower levels of stress and anxiety. Interestingly, the size of the green space mattered less than its accessibility. Even small pocket parks had a positive effect if they were within easy walking distance. The study also noted that the benefits were stronger for older adults and those living alone. However, the researchers emphasized that these findings are correlational, not causal, and more work is needed to understand the underlying mechanisms.
