Researchers found that people living within 300 meters of a park reported 20% lower stress levels. Interestingly, the size of the green space mattered less than its accessibility. Even small community gardens had a significant positive effect if they were easy to reach on foot. However, the study also noted that the benefits were strongest for older adults, particularly those over 65, who used the spaces daily for walking or socializing.
