Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to talk about the history of the bicycle. Now, many people believe that the bicycle was invented in the 19th century, but actually, the first two-wheeled vehicle, called a 'velocipede', appeared in France in the 1790s. However, it had no pedals; riders pushed their feet along the ground. It wasn't until 1860s that pedals were added to the front wheel. Interestingly, the modern chain-driven bicycle, similar to what we ride today, was developed in England in the 1880s. This design made cycling much more efficient and comfortable.
