45HQ (45' High Cube)

The 45-foot High Cube (45HQ) is a standard container type in international container shipping, referring to a high cube container that is 45 feet long and 9 feet 6 inches high. Its external dimensions are approximately 13.58 meters long, 2.34 meters wide, and 2.69 meters high, with an internal volume of about 76 cubic meters and a maximum payload of about 27-29 tons. Compared to the 40-foot High Cube (40HQ), the 45HQ is about 3 meters longer and offers about 10-12 cubic meters more volume, but not all shipping lines provide this container type, and inland transport is restricted in some countries. Usage scenarios: suitable for large-volume shipments of light bulky cargo (such as furniture, plastic products, textiles), reducing freight cost per unit volume. Precautions: confirm whether the shipping line accepts 45HQ, whether the destination port supports 45-foot container handling and inland trucking; when booking, specify the container type code 45HQ to avoid confusion with 40HQ; overweight cargo is not suitable because the payload is similar to 40HQ but the volume is larger.
