CO Certificate

Customer Management CO Certificate (CO Certificate) is not a standard term in international trade. It usually refers to a Certificate of Origin (CO) issued by an enterprise for customer management purposes, to help customers with customs clearance, enjoy tariff preferences, or meet importing country requirements. Use cases include: exporters providing a CO at the customer's request to prove that goods originate from a specific country, thereby enjoying free trade agreement rates or ordinary rates. Notes: The CO must be issued by an authorized body (such as the CCPIT or customs), and its contents must be consistent with the invoice and bill of lading; different free trade agreements correspond to different CO formats (such as FORM A, FORM E, etc.) and cannot be mixed; customer management CO certificates may involve commercial secrets and must be handled carefully. The difference from an ordinary CO is that 'customer management' emphasizes that the certificate is required by a specific customer and used for its internal management or customs clearance process, rather than being proactively provided by the exporter. Foreign trade practitioners should clarify the customer's specific needs to avoid customs clearance delays or fines caused by the wrong type of certificate.
