A Rotation Wholesaler is an intermediary in foreign trade who purchases and resells goods by rotating among multiple suppliers or markets through remote communication methods such as mail and email. Its core characteristic is that it does not commit to a single supply channel long-term; instead, it periodically requests quotes from different suppliers and rotates orders based on changes in price, inventory, exchange rates, etc., to obtain the best procurement terms. This is commonly seen in industries with frequent price fluctuations and dispersed supply sources, such as commodities, consumer goods, and electronic components. Note: Unlike ordinary wholesalers, rotation wholesalers emphasize dynamic price comparison and rapid switching, requiring high sensitivity to market information. Unlike agents, they buy goods in their own name and resell them, earning a margin rather than a commission. Compared with distributors, they do not rely on exclusive authorization and have lower cooperation stability. Foreign trade practitioners should be aware of issues such as order fragmentation, high communication costs, and difficulty in assessing credit risk. It is advisable to reduce risk through prepayment, letters of credit, or third-party guarantees, and to establish rapid quotation and order-tracking mechanisms.
