Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) is a warehousing system that uses computer control systems, aisle stackers, conveyor systems, and other equipment to achieve automatic storage, retrieval, handling, and management of goods. Its core features are high-rise racks, automated storage and retrieval, and information-based management, which can significantly improve space utilization and operational efficiency. In foreign trade, AS/RS is commonly used in large manufacturing enterprises, third-party logistics, and cross-border e-commerce bonded warehouses or overseas warehouses for storing raw materials, finished products, or returned goods. Use cases include: integration with WMS (Warehouse Management System) for real-time inventory updates; coordination with AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) for 'goods-to-person' picking. Notes: AS/RS is a high-investment, customized equipment; foreign trade quotations must clearly include installation and commissioning, training, and after-sales service; for export, attention must be paid to the target country's electrical standards (e.g., UL, CE) and tariff codes (usually classified under 8479 or 8428). Compared with ordinary racks and forklift warehouses, AS/RS terminology emphasizes 'automation' and 'system integration' rather than a single piece of equipment.
