Intermediate Packing

Intermediate Packing refers to a packaging level between individual sales packaging (inner packaging) and transport packaging (outer packaging). It is typically used to combine several inner packaging units into a medium-sized unit, such as putting 10 boxes of medicine into a carton or 20 shirts into a plastic bag. Its use cases include: facilitating wholesale, distribution, shelf display, or serving as a cushioning unit within transport packaging; in cross-border e-commerce, intermediate packing is also commonly used as the level between Amazon FBA 'selling units' and 'full cases'. Notes: Intermediate packing must be labeled with product information, quantity, and barcode, but generally does not require shipping marks; if the customer requests 'neutral packing', the intermediate packing must not show any brand. Difference from 'inner packaging': inner packaging directly contacts the product and faces the end consumer, while intermediate packing is a grouping layer; difference from 'outer packaging': outer packaging is a transport unit emphasizing protection and handling, while intermediate packing balances distribution and display. Foreign trade contracts should specify the size, material, quantity per pack, and shipping mark requirements of intermediate packing to avoid customs clearance or shelf placement issues caused by unclear packaging levels.
