Carton Sealing

Carton Sealing refers to the operation of sealing cardboard boxes that have been packed during international trade logistics. It typically uses tape, strapping, or adhesive to ensure that the goods inside the box do not scatter or get lost during transportation, handling, and warehousing. This term is commonly used in shipping preparation, warehouse management, and carrier operations, and it is the final step in ensuring packaging integrity. Usage scenarios include: sealing boxes before factory shipment, reinforcing in freight forwarder warehouses, and sealing e-commerce parcels. Precautions: sealing materials must comply with the environmental requirements of the destination country (e.g., the EU bans PVC tape); sealing should be firm and must not obscure the shipping marks on the box; for high-value or fragile items, '工'-shaped or 'H'-shaped sealing methods should be used. The difference from 'Strapping' is that carton sealing focuses on sealing the box opening, while strapping focuses on reinforcing with strapping bands; unlike 'Packing', which refers to placing goods into the box, carton sealing only refers to the sealing action. Proper carton sealing can reduce cargo damage rates and avoid claims caused by improper packaging.
