Main Mark / Shipping Mark

Main Mark (also known as Shipping Mark) is the most important identifier on export transport packaging, used to identify goods and prevent misdelivery or mis-shipment. It usually consists of the consignee code, reference number, destination, and package number, and is stenciled in a prominent position on the front or side of the packing box. Use cases include international cargo transport by sea, air, and land, especially common in container transport and LCL cargo. Precautions: The content of the Main Mark must be consistent with documents such as the bill of lading and packing list; the font must be clear, waterproof, and not easy to fall off; avoid using confusing letters and numbers. Difference from Side Mark: Side Mark usually indicates auxiliary information such as gross weight, net weight, dimensions, and place of origin, while the Main Mark is the primary identifier used to quickly identify the batch and destination. Relationship with Shipping Marks: Shipping Marks is a general term, and the Main Mark is the core part of the Shipping Marks. Correct use of the Main Mark can improve logistics efficiency and reduce cargo damage and discrepancies.
