Anti-Rust Paper

Anti-Rust Paper is a functional packaging material widely used in the packaging of metal products. Its surface is coated or impregnated with rust inhibitors (such as Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor, VCI), which slowly release rust-preventing gas in a confined space and adsorb onto metal surfaces to form a protective film, thereby preventing steel, copper, aluminum and other metals from rusting due to moisture, salt spray or oxygen during transportation and storage. Application scenarios include: sea freight packaging of export machinery equipment, auto parts, hardware tools, bearings and other rust-prone products. Precautions: 1) Select the corresponding model according to the metal type (e.g., for steel, copper, multi-metal); 2) The surface of the packaged items should be clean and dry, avoiding sweat stains or acid-base residues; 3) Anti-rust paper must fit tightly against the metal surface or maintain a confined space, otherwise the effect decreases; 4) Storage temperature should not be too high to avoid volatilization and failure of the rust inhibitor. Differences from other terms: Ordinary anti-rust paper only relies on contact rust prevention, while VCI Paper can provide non-contact rust prevention; compared with Desiccant, anti-rust paper actively inhibits electrochemical corrosion, while desiccant only controls humidity. In foreign trade documents, material, grammage, rust prevention period and applicable metals are often required to be specified.
