Shielding Bag

A Shielding Bag is a packaging bag with electromagnetic shielding function, typically made of metallized polyester film or conductive materials, used to package electronic components, circuit boards, hard drives, etc. that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). In foreign trade, this term is commonly found in procurement contracts, product specifications, and logistics packaging requirements in the electronics industry. Usage scenarios include: when exporting precision electronic products, customers may specify that packaging must use shielding bags to prevent damage during transportation. Precautions: Shielding bags must comply with international standards such as MIL-PRF-81705 or ANSI/ESD S541, and a distinction should be made between 'Anti-static Bag' and 'Shielding Bag'—the former only prevents static generation, while the latter can shield external electromagnetic fields. Additionally, shielding bags usually need to be used with moisture barrier bags and desiccants, and attention should be paid to their shielding effectiveness varying with frequency. Compared with 'conductive bags', shielding bags focus more on multilayer structures to attenuate electromagnetic waves. Foreign trade practitioners should clarify customers' requirements for shielding effectiveness (such as surface resistance, attenuation values) to avoid returns or claims due to improper packaging.
