Wooden Pallet

A wooden pallet is a horizontal platform device used in international trade for carrying, handling, and stacking goods. It is typically made of wood, with gaps at the bottom for forklift insertion. It is a fundamental tool in logistics transportation and warehousing, widely used in container loading, LCL consolidation, FCL transport, and warehouse storage. When using wooden pallets, note the following: 1) Wooden packaging may carry pests and diseases. Exports to the United States, the European Union, Australia, and other countries must undergo fumigation treatment (such as heat treatment HT or methyl bromide fumigation MB) and bear the IPPC mark; otherwise, they may be returned or destroyed. 2) Pallet specifications (such as standard 1200mm×1000mm, 1100mm×1100mm) and materials (solid wood, plywood, plastic, etc.) should be selected based on cargo weight and dimensions. Plywood pallets are usually exempt from fumigation. 3) Compared with plastic pallets and metal pallets, wooden pallets have lower costs and good load-bearing capacity, but are susceptible to moisture and insect damage, and must comply with the ISPM 15 international standard. In foreign trade documents, the pallet material, quantity, and treatment method are often required to be specified.
