Particle Board Case

Particle Board Case is a common packaging term in international trade, referring to a packing case made primarily of particle board (also known as chipboard). Particle board is made from wood chips mixed with adhesive and hot-pressed, costing less than solid wood but with poorer strength, moisture resistance, and durability. This term is typically used to describe the packaging method and appears in contracts, letters of credit, packing lists, and other documents. It is mostly used for goods with low packaging strength requirements, such as exported furniture, mechanical parts, and hardware tools. Notes: 1. Particle board cases are not moisture-resistant; additional moisture-proof measures are needed for long-distance sea shipping; 2. Load-bearing capacity is limited, so they are not suitable for heavy or precision equipment; 3. Some countries require wood packaging to be fumigated (e.g., ISPM 15), but particle board is usually considered exempt due to high-temperature and high-pressure treatment, though importing country regulations should still be confirmed. Compared with Solid Wood Case, particle board cases are cheaper but weaker; compared with Plywood Case, particle board cases have weaker moisture resistance. Foreign trade practitioners should choose appropriate packaging based on cargo characteristics, transportation method, and importing country requirements.
