Distribution Center

Distribution Center refers to a facility in the logistics network used for centralized receiving, storage, sorting, and redistribution of goods, usually located near transportation hubs or consumer markets. In foreign trade, distribution centers are often used for regional distribution: imported goods are first transported to the distribution center, then distributed to multiple destinations according to orders; or export goods are consolidated at the distribution center and shipped together. Use cases include cross-border e-commerce, international transit, and bonded logistics. Notes: A distribution center is different from a delivery center (which emphasizes last-mile delivery) and a transshipment center (which focuses on transfer of transport modes); a distribution center may involve customs supervision such as bonded status and inspection and quarantine, so the cargo status and value-added services (such as labeling and assembly) must be clarified. In foreign trade contracts, the responsible party, cost sharing, and the point of transfer of title at the distribution center should be stipulated to avoid delivery disputes caused by distribution delays.
