Airtight Packing

Airtight Packing refers to a packaging method in which goods are completely sealed using containers or materials that prevent the exchange of gases, moisture, microorganisms, etc., between the inside and outside. Its core purpose is to prevent moisture, oxidation, contamination, and leakage. It is commonly used for products sensitive to humidity or air, such as food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and precision instruments. Application scenarios include: sea freight, air freight, and long-term storage, especially when goods pass through regions with high humidity or large temperature differences. Precautions: Sealing materials (e.g., aluminum foil bags, glass bottles, sealed cans) should be selected according to product characteristics, and the sealing process must be reliable; for dangerous goods, airtight packing must also comply with international dangerous goods regulations (e.g., IMDG). The difference from 'Moisture-proof Packing' is that moisture-proof packing only blocks water vapor, while airtight packing blocks both gases and liquids; unlike 'Vacuum Packing,' airtight packing does not necessarily require vacuuming, only isolation from the external environment. In foreign trade contracts or letters of credit, if 'Airtight Packing' is required, the seller must provide corresponding proof or use the specified packaging, otherwise it may constitute a breach of contract.
