Express Consignment

Express Consignment refers to inbound and outbound goods and articles carried by express operators (such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.) via rapid commercial transportation. Its core characteristics are strong time sensitivity, light weight per shipment, and relatively low value, typically suitable for samples, documents, urgent spare parts, cross-border e-commerce small parcels, etc. Use scenarios include: cross-border e-commerce B2C direct mail, urgent sample delivery between enterprises, allocation of repair spare parts, etc. Notes: 1) Must comply with customs regulatory requirements for express consignment classification (Categories A, B, C); different categories have different customs declaration documents and tax rates; 2) If the value exceeds the limit (e.g., China's personal article limit of 1,000 RMB), it must be declared as goods; 3) Carrying prohibited items is forbidden, otherwise it may face return or penalties. Difference from 'general trade': express customs clearance is more convenient but has more restrictions, while general trade is suitable for large-volume, high-value goods; Difference from 'cross-border e-commerce retail export': the latter has a dedicated regulatory code (e.g., 9610), while express consignment can cover multiple trade modes. Foreign trade practitioners should accurately declare the product name, value, and quantity to avoid legal risks caused by under-declaration.
