Lab Technician

Lab Technician is a common technical service position term in foreign trade, referring to a professional who performs sample testing, instrument operation, data recording, and basic analysis in a laboratory environment. In foreign trade, this term usually appears in contracts, technical agreements, equipment installation and commissioning, after-sales training, or quality control clauses. For example, when importing precision instruments, the supplier may send a lab technician to the buyer's site for installation, calibration, and operation training; when exporting chemical products, the contract may require the buyer's lab technician to sample and test according to standard methods. Note: This position usually requires relevant professional education or certification, and the test reports it issues may affect delivery acceptance. Compared with 'Engineer', a technician focuses more on operational execution rather than design or decision-making; compared with 'QC Inspector', a technician's scope of work is broader and may involve R&D or calibration. Foreign trade practitioners need to clarify the scope of responsibilities, qualification requirements, and who bears the costs to avoid disputes caused by unclear responsibilities.
