EAC Certification (Eurasian Conformity)

EAC Certification (Eurasian Conformity) is a mandatory product certification system implemented by the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU, whose members include Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia), proving that products comply with the safety requirements of the Union's technical regulations (TR CU/TR EAEU). Usage scenarios: Most industrial products and consumer goods exported to the above five countries (such as machinery and equipment, electronic and electrical appliances, food contact materials, children's products, etc.) must obtain EAC certification and bear the EAC mark; otherwise, they cannot clear customs or be sold. Notes: EAC certification has two forms—Certificate of Conformity and Declaration of Conformity—and must be applied for by an authorized representative within the Union; the certification scheme depends on the product's risk level, and some products also require factory audits or sample testing. Difference from other terms: EAC certification replaced the former Russian GOST-R, Kazakh GOST-K, and other national certifications, but it is not an internationally universal certification (such as CE or ISO) and applies only to the EAEU market. Foreign trade practitioners should confirm in advance the technical regulations and certification mode corresponding to their products to avoid goods being detained or returned due to lack of certification.
