Packaging Test

Packaging Test refers to tests conducted in international trade on the physical properties, environmental adaptability, and mechanical strength of packages to ensure that export goods are protected from damage during transportation, loading and unloading, and storage. Common test items include drop test, vibration test, stacking test, compression test, impact test, and temperature-humidity cycling test. It is mainly used in contract quality clauses, letter of credit document requirements, carrier transportation conditions, and importing country regulations (such as ISTA and ASTM standards). Note: The test standard must be clearly agreed upon by both buyer and seller, such as ISTA 1A, 2A, or ASTM D4169; the test report should be issued by a third-party institution, and its validity period should be noted; if the test fails, the buyer may reject the goods or file a claim. The difference from 'packaging inspection' is that packaging testing focuses on laboratory-simulated performance, while packaging inspection focuses on on-site appearance and quantity verification.
