A Salt Spray Chamber is a corrosion testing device used to simulate marine or salt-laden humid environments, primarily for evaluating the corrosion resistance of metal materials, coatings, electroplated layers, and electronic components. In foreign trade, this equipment is commonly found in industries such as hardware, automotive parts, aerospace, electronics and electrical appliances. Customers often require suppliers to provide salt spray test reports to prove that products comply with international standards (e.g., ASTM B117, ISO 9227). Usage scenarios include: product quality certification, export commodity inspection, customer factory audits, etc. Precautions: It is necessary to clarify test standards, salt spray concentration (typically 5% NaCl), test duration (e.g., 24h, 48h, 96h), temperature (35°C), and other parameters. Different standards vary greatly in result judgment. When quoting, confirm whether installation training and calibration services are included. Differences from other terms: A salt spray chamber differs from a constant temperature and humidity chamber; the former is specifically for corrosion testing, while the latter is for temperature and humidity environment simulation. Compared with an aging test chamber, a salt spray chamber focuses on salt spray corrosion rather than light/heat aging.
