REACH Testing

REACH Testing refers to compliance services that test the content of chemical substances in products according to the EU Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (EC 1907/2006). This regulation requires all chemicals and their downstream products entering the EU market (such as textiles, electronic and electrical appliances, toys, furniture, etc.) to comply with the REACH Restricted Substances List (Annex XVII) and the limits for Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). Use scenarios include: SVHC screening of products before exporting to the EU, providing test reports at customer request, and responding to EU customs spot checks. Notes: REACH testing is not a single item; the testing scope must be clarified (e.g., 233 SVHC substances, specific substances under Annex XVII); test reports must be issued by qualified laboratories; when SVHC content exceeds 0.1%, information transmission or notification obligations must be fulfilled. Difference from RoHS testing: RoHS only targets 10 hazardous substances in electronic and electrical equipment, while REACH covers almost all consumer goods entering the EU and its substance list is dynamically updated; the two often need to be met simultaneously.
