RoHS Testing

RoHS Testing refers to the testing of hazardous substances in products according to the EU Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment. The directive restricts ten substances including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, and four phthalates. Usage scenarios: Electrical and electronic equipment, components, and raw materials exported to the EU must pass RoHS testing to demonstrate compliance with environmental requirements. Notes: RoHS test reports are typically valid for one year and must be issued by a qualified third-party laboratory; different customers may require different limits or additional substances; unlike REACH testing, RoHS targets specific hazardous substances and applies only to electrical and electronic equipment, while REACH covers all chemicals. In foreign trade, it is often associated with CE certification, but RoHS is a separate directive.
