Vibration Test

Vibration Test is an environmental reliability test conducted in foreign trade on transport packaging or the product itself, used to evaluate the ability of goods to withstand vibration environments during transportation, loading/unloading, and stacking. It is commonly used in industries such as electronics, machinery, automotive parts, and precision instruments. Usage scenarios include: customers requiring a vibration test report as a prerequisite for shipment; carriers (such as shipping companies, airlines) or insurance companies requiring proof of packaging compliance; verifying structural strength during product R&D; and meeting destination country technical regulations (such as ISTA, ASTM D999, IEC 60068-2-6 standards). Precautions: test standards, frequency range, acceleration, duration, axis (vertical/horizontal), and whether testing is done with packaging must be clearly specified; results from different standards are not directly mutually recognized; test reports should be issued by third-party laboratories with CNAS or ILAC qualifications, otherwise they may be rejected by customs or buyers in the importing country. Difference from Drop Test: vibration testing simulates continuous, low-amplitude transport vibration, while drop testing simulates sudden impact; the two are often combined for complete transport packaging verification. It also differs from Shock Test, which targets non-repetitive high-acceleration transients. Foreign trade contracts should specify the test standard, sample condition, cost bearing, and handling of non-conformity.
