Air Transportation

Air transportation refers to the mode of transporting goods from the departure airport to the destination airport by aircraft. In foreign trade, air transportation is suitable for high-value, time-sensitive, small-volume, or perishable goods, such as electronic products, precision instruments, samples, and fresh products. When using air transportation, note the following: freight is usually charged based on actual weight or volumetric weight, whichever is greater, and fuel surcharges and security surcharges must also be considered; goods must comply with aviation safety regulations, such as lithium batteries requiring an MSDS and identification report; the air waybill (AWB) is a transport document but not a document of title. Compared with sea freight, air freight is faster but more expensive and has smaller capacity; compared with express delivery, air freight usually refers to airport-to-airport, while express delivery is door-to-door. In addition, air transportation is divided into direct flights and transshipment, and attention must be paid to flight timeliness and customs clearance requirements.
