Today, I want to discuss the concept of 'behavioral adaptation' in animals—specifically, how some species develop unique behaviors to survive in extreme environments. Let me give you two examples. First, consider the desert lizard. In the scorching heat, this lizard doesn't hunt during the day. Instead, it buries itself in cool sand and becomes active only at dawn or dusk. This behavior reduces water loss and avoids overheating. Second, think about the Arctic fox. In winter, its hunting strategy changes. It listens for rodents under the snow and then pounces vertically to break through the icy crust. This precise leap saves energy and ensures a successful catch. Both examples show how behaviors are not random but finely tuned responses to environmental pressures, maximizing survival and reproduction.
