Instead of relying on streams, they have learned a clever behavior. They find tree holes that collect rainwater, but these holes are often too deep for them to drink. So, they take a leaf, chew it into a sponge-like shape, dip it into the hole, and then suck the water from the leaf. This is not a fixed instinct—young monkeys watch adults and learn this technique over time. It helps them survive when water is limited. So, this learned behavior directly addresses a survival challenge in their environment.
