Campus Notice: Extended Library Hours During Finals Week. Starting next Monday, the main library will remain open 24 hours a day through the end of finals week. Additional study rooms on the second floor will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Also, free coffee and tea will be provided in the lobby from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. each night.

M: Did you see the notice about the library staying open all night during finals? That's awesome! I always need extra time to study, and my dorm gets too noisy. W: I see the benefit, but I'm not entirely happy. The extra hours are great, but the free coffee at night will make the place crowded and noisy, especially near the lobby. I prefer quiet when I study. M: True, but I think the quiet study rooms on the second floor will still be available, and the first-come, first-served rule means I can grab one early. Besides, the coffee is only in the lobby, so it won't affect those rooms much. W: Still, I worry that more people will use the library, so those study rooms will fill up fast. Plus, the university is spending money on coffee that could be used for more books or better lighting. M: I get that, but for me, the 24-hour access is the key. I can plan my study schedule without worrying about closing time.
