TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during finals week. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be added to the main library. Students will need to use their ID cards to access the library after midnight.

Woman: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great idea. Man: Really? I'm not so sure. The 24/7 hours might be a waste of resources if not many students use them. Woman: But during finals, the library is packed. Many students, like me, prefer studying late at night. It's actually more productive. Man: I guess that's true, but the quiet floor? I think it's unnecessary. We already have quiet zones on each floor. Woman: Those are often noisy because they're not enforced. A dedicated quiet floor would actually solve that problem. I've had to complain multiple times about people talking in the current quiet areas. Man: Hmm, I hadn't thought about that. Maybe the quiet floor is a good idea after all.
