Starting next semester, the university will require all students to purchase a meal plan, regardless of whether they live on or off campus. The plan includes 10 meals per week at any campus dining hall. University officials say this change will promote healthier eating habits and foster a stronger sense of community among students. The cost will be added to tuition, and students who do not use all their meals will forfeit them at the end of each week.

Woman: Did you see this? We're all being forced into a meal plan now! I can't believe it. Man: Yeah, I read it. I mean, the idea of eating together sounds nice, but what about students like you who live off campus and cook at home? Woman: Exactly! I spend about half that amount on groceries each week. Plus, I have dietary restrictions—I'm gluten-free. The dining halls barely have options for me. Man: So you'd be paying for meals you can't even eat. That's unfair. Woman: And the community thing? I'm not going to hang out in the dining hall alone. I'd rather meet friends at the student center. Man: True. They're not really thinking about individual needs. Woman: Right! They should make it optional, not mandatory. I'll write to the student council about this.
