托福口语 Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during finals week. Additionally, a new silent study floor will be added to reduce noise complaints. The administration believes this will improve student performance and satisfaction.

W: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great idea. M: Really? I'm not so sure. Extending hours is nice, but a whole silent floor seems unnecessary. Most students already use headphones. W: But not everyone does! Last week I couldn't concentrate because someone was watching a video without headphones. A dedicated silent floor would solve that. M: I guess, but what about the cost? They'll need extra staff and security. I'd rather they spent that money on more study spaces around campus. W: True, but during finals, the library is packed. Having 24/7 access means I can study at 3 a.m. without worrying about being kicked out. That alone helps my grades. M: Okay, I see your point, but I still think it's overkill. We already have 24-hour computer labs. The silent floor is the only real benefit for me.
