Campus Notice: The university will extend the library's hours to 24/5 starting next semester, from 8 a.m. Monday to 8 p.m. Friday. The change aims to accommodate students' late-night study needs. Additional security staff will be hired, and a small fee of $5 per semester will be charged to all students to cover the cost.

Woman: Did you see the notice about the library? I'm really excited! I often pull all-nighters before exams, and now I don't have to leave at midnight. Man: I get that, but I'm not so happy. First, the $5 fee is unfair. Even students who never use the library at night have to pay. I mean, I only study during the day, so why should I pay for something I don't use? They should charge only those who actually use the late-night hours. Woman: But $5 is really cheap for all those extra hours. Man: It's not just the money. Think about the noise and safety. More people in the library at night could mean more distractions and maybe even safety issues. I live right next to the library, and I'm worried about the increased foot traffic late at night. It might get noisy and feel less secure around the area.
