TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Campus Notice: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 2 AM on weekdays and 24/7 on weekends during finals week. To accommodate this, the library will reduce its daytime staff and rely more on self-service kiosks for checkout. The new hours aim to support student study needs, especially during peak exam periods.

Man: Did you see the notice about the library hours? I think it's great! I often pull all-nighters before exams, and the current 10 PM closing is way too early. Having the library open until 2 AM will be a lifesaver. Woman: I see your point, but I'm worried about the reduced daytime staff. I always need help finding research materials, and those self-service kiosks can't answer my questions. Last week, a staff member helped me locate a rare journal I couldn't find online. Man: That's true, but for me, the extra hours outweigh the inconvenience. I usually study alone, and I rarely need staff assistance. Plus, I think most students can manage with the kiosks for basic checkouts. Woman: But what about students who need help at night? If there are fewer staff during the day, I doubt they'll add more at night. Still, I understand why you're excited. For me, the loss of daytime support is a big deal.
