Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/5 (Sunday night through Friday afternoon) and add a new quiet study floor on the third level. To fund these changes, a small technology fee of $25 per semester will be added to all student fees.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I'm really excited about the 24/5 hours. As a night owl, I always struggle to find a place to study late, especially during finals week. W: I get that, but the fee bothers me. $25 a semester adds up, and I rarely use the library past midnight. Plus, they already have a quiet floor on the second level. Why do we need another one? M: But think about it—the quiet floor is always packed, and the new one will have more individual desks. And the fee is worth it for the extended hours; many students, like me, would benefit. It's only $25, less than a textbook. W: Maybe, but students on tight budgets might disagree. Still, I see your point about the demand. M: Exactly. I think the library is responding to what students actually need.
