Campus Announcement: Extended Library Hours During Finals Week Starting Monday, December 11th, the university library will extend its hours to 24/7 operation through Friday, December 22nd. This change is in response to student requests for more study space during final exams. Additional study rooms will be available on the third floor, and the café will remain open all night. Students are reminded to bring their ID cards for entry after 10 p.m.

Student 1: Did you see the email about the library staying open 24/7 during finals? That's great, right? Student 2: Actually, I'm not so sure. I mean, it sounds nice, but I think it's a bad idea. Student 1: Why? More study time and space seems helpful. Student 2: Well, first, the library is already noisy during finals, and with more people coming at night, it'll be even harder to find a quiet spot. The third floor study rooms are often booked, and I doubt they'll add enough to make a difference. Student 1: Hmm, but what about the all-night café? That might help. Student 2: That's the second problem. The café will be open, but that just means more noise and distractions. Plus, I think students will use the extended hours as an excuse to procrastinate, thinking they can always study later. I'd rather they focused on better daytime space and quiet zones.
