Announcement: Starting next semester, the university library will extend its weekend hours from 8 PM to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. This change aims to provide more study time for students, especially during exam periods. Additional funding will be allocated to cover staffing and utility costs. The extended hours will be in effect throughout the academic year, including breaks.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library staying open later on weekends? I think it’s a great idea. I often have to leave on Saturday nights because the library closes at 8, and I lose my study momentum. With the extra hours, I can finish my assignments without rushing home. W: That’s true, but I’m worried about the noise. I mean, more students might come, and it could get crowded and noisy, making it hard to focus. M: Well, the library already has quiet zones, and with more staff, they can enforce the rules better. Also, I think it will reduce stress during finals—students won’t have to cram in the daytime. Overall, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
