Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during finals week. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be added to reduce noise disturbances. The university believes this will improve student performance and satisfaction.
🎧 Listening Conversation
Woman: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great idea.
Man: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, 24/7 access sounds nice, but it might be a waste of resources.
Woman: But think about it—during finals, so many students struggle to find a place to study at night. I've had to study in the dorm lobby before, which is noisy.
Man: I get that, but the quiet floor is what I'm concerned about. They're just moving the noise problem, not solving it. Some students still won't follow the rules.
Woman: That's true, but at least there will be a designated space. I think it will help most students. Also, I heard the library staff will monitor the quiet floor more strictly.
Man: Even so, I think they should have used the money to buy more books and online resources instead.
Woman: Well, I still support it. For me, the extended hours are the best part. I work part-time during the day, so I can only study late at night.
Man: I see your point, but I just don't think it's necessary. Most students can manage their time better.
