Campus Notice: The university will extend the library's opening hours to 24/5 (Sunday through Thursday) starting next semester. This change aims to accommodate students' study needs during finals and midterms. Additionally, the library will allocate a new silent study floor on the third level to provide a distraction-free environment. The extended hours will require a modest increase in student activity fees to cover staffing and utility costs.

Student 1 (Sarah): Did you see the notice about the library? I'm not thrilled about the fee increase. We already pay enough in tuition and fees. And honestly, who studies at 3 a.m.? Most students are asleep then. The extra hours seem wasteful when the library is barely full after midnight even during finals. I think the university could save money by just adding more study spaces during normal hours instead. Also, having a whole silent floor might not work—students often need to collaborate on group projects, and they'd be forced to whisper or go elsewhere, which is inconvenient. Overall, I think it's an unnecessary expense and could actually reduce flexibility for group work.
