TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Campus Announcement: Beginning next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during exam weeks. This change aims to provide students with more flexible study spaces. However, to accommodate this, the main computer lab on the first floor will be closed during those extended hours, and all computer work must be done in the smaller lab on the second floor.

Student 1: Did you see the announcement about the library staying open all night during exams? I think it's a great idea! I always pull all-nighters before finals, and it's so annoying when they kick us out at midnight. Student 2: I see the benefit, but I'm really against closing the first-floor computer lab. That lab has half the computers, and they're always full during exam week. The second-floor lab is tiny and crowded. Plus, many of us need to work on group projects online, and we can't just use laptops. Student 1: I get that, but we can book the second-floor lab in advance. And honestly, being able to study with my books and notes in a quiet space all night is more important to me than computer access. I usually do my research earlier in the day anyway. Student 2: For me, the computer issue is a deal-breaker. Two nights before my biology exam, I have to submit an online lab report, and if the first-floor lab is closed, I'll have nowhere to go. The second-floor lab only has 20 stations, and it's always packed. I'd rather have shorter hours but keep all the computer labs open.
