Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will require all students living in dormitories to participate in a weekly community service project. Each resident must complete at least two hours per week, and participation will be tracked by resident advisors. The program aims to foster a sense of community and civic responsibility among students.

Woman: Did you see the new announcement about mandatory community service for dorm residents? I think it's a great idea. Man: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, we already have busy schedules with classes and part-time jobs. Adding a mandatory two hours a week feels like a lot. Woman: But that's only two hours, and we can choose from different projects. It’s a chance to get to know neighbors and do something meaningful. Man: I see your point, but what if someone has a late class or an exam? The requirement is rigid. It should be optional, not forced. Woman: Well, I think the structure helps people actually follow through. Plus, it looks good on a resume. I’m all for it. Man: I still think there are better ways to build community, like social events. Forcing service might just make people resent it.
