Campus Announcement: Extended Library Hours Starting Next Month. To better accommodate student study needs, the university library will extend its weekday hours from 10 PM to midnight. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be opened on the fourth floor, available 24/7 for graduate students and undergraduates with a special pass. The new schedule aims to provide more flexible study options during finals and peak periods.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's great! I often have to leave at 10 PM when I'm in the middle of a study session. Those extra two hours will really help me prepare for my finals.
W: That's true, but what about the new quiet floor? It's only for students with a special pass. I mean, why not just make it open to everyone? I sometimes need a quiet place, but I don't want to apply for a pass.
M: Well, the pass is easy to get, and it's a way to keep the floor quiet. If everyone could use it, it might get too noisy, like the other floors. Plus, the extended hours benefit all students, not just a few.
W: I guess you have a point. But I still think they should have just extended the hours for all floors without restricting the quiet floor. That would be fairer.
M: I disagree. The pass system ensures that only serious students use that floor, which is better for everyone who really needs silence. And the extended hours are a big win for me, so I'm all for it.
