Campus Notice: Extended Library Hours During Finals Week Starting Monday, December 10th, the main library will extend its hours to 2:00 AM on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends to accommodate students preparing for final exams. The extended hours will remain in effect until December 22nd. Additionally, the library will offer free coffee and tea from 10:00 PM to midnight in the lobby area. Students are reminded to bring their student IDs for entry after 10:00 PM.

M: Did you see the notice about the library hours? I think it's great. I have three final papers due, and I often study best late at night when it's quiet. Now I can stay until 2 AM without worrying about being kicked out. W: Really? I'm not so thrilled. I mean, the extended hours sound good, but I'm worried about safety. Walking back to the dorms at 2 AM alone is scary, and the campus shuttle stops running at midnight. Plus, the free coffee might just keep people awake and noisy, which could be distracting. M: Well, I think they're addressing that. The notice says they'll have extra security patrols after 10 PM, and they're setting up a quiet study area in the basement for those who need silence. And the coffee is in the lobby, far from the study zones. W: I hadn't thought about that. But still, I think it's unfair that they're only doing this during finals. What about the rest of the semester? Some of us have big projects mid-semester too. M: True, but this is a start. I'd rather have this than nothing. I'll definitely be using it.
