Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend the library's weekday hours from 10 PM to midnight. This change aims to accommodate students who prefer studying late. However, the additional hours will be staffed by student assistants, and the university will reduce the number of study rooms available during the day to fund this extension.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I'm not thrilled about it. W: Really? I thought you'd be happy since you always study late. M: I do, but this plan has problems. First, cutting daytime study rooms is a bad trade-off. Many students, especially those with morning classes, rely on those rooms for group projects. We'd lose quiet, bookable spaces during peak hours. W: That's true. But what about the extra hours at night? M: They're helpful, but the second issue is that student assistants will be managing the library alone after 10 PM. They're not trained for emergencies or complex inquiries. What if something goes wrong? It's a safety concern and also a quality issue. I'd rather keep shorter hours with proper staff than risky extended ones.
