Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university library will extend its opening hours to 24/7 during final exam weeks. To accommodate this, the library will reduce its weekend hours during non-exam periods from 10 AM–10 PM to 12 PM–8 PM. The administration believes this change will better serve students when they need it most.

Man: Did you see the email about the library hours? I think it's a terrible idea.
Woman: Really? I thought it was great for finals week.
Man: Sure, but we lose weekend hours the rest of the semester! I often use Saturday afternoons to catch up on readings when I'm not in class. Now the library closes at 8 PM, so I'll have to leave early and lose study time.
Woman: But 24/7 during finals is a big help.
Man: Not for me. My finals are spread out, and I rarely pull all-nighters. The extra overnight hours won't benefit me, but the reduced weekend hours will hurt my regular routine. Also, the library is the quietest place to study on weekends, and with fewer hours, it'll be more crowded when it's open. That's another downside.
