TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during final exam weeks. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be added to reduce noise distractions. The university believes these changes will better support student academic success.

Man: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great idea. Having 24/7 access during finals is exactly what we need. Last year, I had to leave at midnight when I was in the middle of reviewing for my biology exam, and it really broke my focus. Woman: I agree, but I'm more excited about the quiet floor. The current library is so noisy, especially on the first floor. People talk on their phones, and group study sessions get loud. A dedicated quiet floor would actually let me concentrate. Man: True, but I also think the extended hours will help those of us who work part-time during the day. I often can't start studying until 10 p.m., and midnight closing is too early. Woman: Yeah, that's a good point. Plus, the quiet floor might reduce the number of complaints about noise, so everyone benefits. Both changes seem like solid improvements.
