TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours from 10:00 PM to midnight on weekdays. This change aims to accommodate students who prefer late-night study sessions. Additionally, the quiet study floors will be expanded to the third floor to reduce noise disturbances.

Man: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I think it's a great idea. I often stay late to finish assignments, and the current 10 PM closing is too early. I can finally get more work done without rushing. Also, expanding the quiet floors is a huge plus. The noise on the second floor always distracts me, so having more quiet space means I can focus better. Woman: I understand your point, but I'm worried about the cost. Extending hours might mean less funding for new books and resources. Also, the third floor is currently used for group study, so moving those students might cause conflicts. Man: That's true, but I think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Most students I know prefer quiet areas, and we can always book group rooms elsewhere.
