Notice: The university will be extending the library's hours to 24/5 (Sunday through Thursday, closing at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays) starting next semester. This change is intended to provide students with more flexible study time, especially during finals week. To accommodate the extended hours, the library will increase its budget for part-time student workers and will reduce the hours of the main computer lab on the first floor, which will now close at 10 PM on weekdays.

Man: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I think it's a great idea!
Woman: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, who actually studies at 3 AM? Most students are asleep then.
Man: But think about it—during finals, a lot of us are night owls. I've had to leave the library at midnight when I was in the zone, and it really broke my concentration. With 24/5, I can keep working without interruptions.
Woman: But what about the computer lab hours being cut? I use that lab for my design projects because the software is only available there. If it closes at 10, I won't have enough time after my evening classes.
Man: Well, I guess they had to make a trade-off. But the library has more computers now, and many of those programs are on the library's main computers too. You could just use those.
Woman: I suppose, but the lab has better scanners and printers. Still, I can see why you like the extended hours. I just think the computer lab change is a big downside.
